Dear Sonia,

One week ago today, your long struggle was finally over. That sunny afternoon, my mom and I honored you with memories while planting sunflower seeds. Julianne doesn't understand all of it, but she knows you can look down from heaven and watch your favorite flowers bloom in our backyard. Just as I cannot describe the wealth of your friendship, so also words fail to convey the loss we all feel without you.
When Julianne is older, we'll bring out the yellow butterfly blanket you knitted for her and tell her all about you, how you could light up a room and make anyone feel loved, and how you yourself were like a sunflower. And of course, she will know you through your living legacy -- in your children.
Love always, Nicole

Wild Weekend Weather
The morning after twisters ripped through ATL, we got some severe weather at our house too: two episodes of heavy rain, lightning and HAIL: with the second time being really sizeable ones - golfball sized. Tim took these two pics of the hailstones that filled the backyard, before the sun came right out and melted them. Grateful and a bit surprised there was no damage around our place.
